STORIES SET TO MUSIC
Stories Set To Music are interactive stories told through music, dance and narration with audience participation encouraged, perfect for all the family!
Toscana Strings launched their Stories Set To Music concerts in 2018 with the aim of delivering premium quality live music in schools in a fun and interactive way. In 2019 they were awarded Best Workshop Provider by Primary Music Magazine and two years later they joined forces with Laura Tye, former soloist with Birmingham Royal Ballet. Since Laura’s retirement in 2024 Toscana Strings are delighted to be working with Laura Power, professional ballerina and a specialist in early years education. Stories Set To Music has gone from strength to strength and concerts are now performed in schools, public venues, at festivals, for arts organsations.
To date Stories Set To Music have performed to over 65,000 children.
There are eight different stories available, all are with narration and are performed by string quintet and dance. Each story lasts approximately 40 minutes.

Laura Power started dance lessons at the age of three and at sixteen was granted a scholarship to study ballet at The Hammond in Chester. While continuing to dance professionally, in 2014 Laura set up her own dance school in the West Midlands and teaches a number of different dance styles. She is also a specialist early years music teacher. Laura has been performing Stories Set To Music with Toscana Strings since September 2024 and is a valued member of the team.
