PETER AND THE WOLF

Please note this version of Peter and the Wolf is orchestrated for string quintet

Stories Set To Music with Dance

Toscana Strings introduce the string family to the audience and the concept of ballet.

The audience is divided into seven groups;

Peter, Bird, Duck, Cat, Grandfather, Wolf and Hunters (in the original it’s the gunshots that are represented on timps, but we will use hunters as they appear in the final procession)

Toscana Strings play each character’s music and then Laura teaches each group a movement/mime that represents their character.

All the children (directed by Laura) and Toscana Strings then practice the finale.

Toscana Strings and Laura perform the story of Peter and the Wolf.

During the finale Laura gets the children to stand up and directs them to do their dance/movement.

These concerts last approximately 40 minutes and we can perform up to six in one day.
